about us

our pursuit

Our mission is simple and relational. Connect Up with God,
Connect In with our church family, and Connect Out to the world.

The most important command is to love God.

We are all made to worship our Creator, and each of us craves that connection from deep within.  We believe true worship is meant to be experienced rather than observed, and that this communion with God is the agent of true transformational change in our lives. At our weekly worship experiences we strive to provide an atmosphere for making that connection through powerful sincere worship and teaching a relevant message from the Bible.

The other most important command is to love people.

The Christian walk is not always easy, and we often need each other’s support. The Bible tells us that every joint [connection] within the body of the church gives strength. We gain strength by being connected with one another, and
that's why we work to provide opportunities for people to belong and be connected at The Summit. We like to call it our
Summit Family.

Loving people means loving all people.

We have opportunities every day to connect with people outside of God’s family, including our co-workers, neighbors and family. We can use these opportunities to demonstrate God's love, share Christ, or even invite them to a Summit worship experience or Growth Group where they can learn about what it means to follow Christ.

Embracing ways to Connect Out is what being a light in this world is all about:

“You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop [Summit] that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under

a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it

gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way,

let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that

everyone will praise your heavenly Father."
-Matthew 5:14-16

our code

Our core values represent 10 things that matter most

to us about the way we pursue God's plan for the Summit Church.

We will be known by our love because without love, we fail.

We are viral.

The church doesn't exist for us alone, and we won't keep it locked up within the four walls of our building. We are here to get involved in, shape and transform - to infect - the world around us with God and His grace.

We foster family.

We are one big family! And we believe healthy families are the building blocks of a strong church-family, so we invest our time and resources into family health.

We live in the real world.

There is no benefit when we pretend to be something we aren't. We strive for authenticity and trust

in God's grace to bring authentic transformation to our lives.

We think big.

We often take leaps of faith to fulfill God's vision for our city and to reach the community around us. If the vision doesn't seem impossible, then we won't needs God's grace to accomplish it.

We are "all hands on deck."

Every member of The Summit is called to do ministry. We aren't content to be observers - we are participants.

We worship passionately.

We create an atmosphere for people to experience Jesus and sometimes the experience can be emotional. We are not ashamed of that.

We will give and give and give.

We will do whatever is necessary to reach people for Jesus. Our staff and our church are committed to giving generously to the work of God in our community.

We like eye contact.

We're here to connect with people, not avoid them.

We always reach forward.

Times change. Seasons change. People change. Cultures change.

Our purpose never changes, but how we do it does. And we will embrace that change.
